The Aspen Institute Forum on Women and Girls activates innovative leaders, entrepreneurs, and their allies to advance a world where women and girls have equal power and opportunity. We catalyze change-making conversations and turn intersectional ideas into action with a focus on economic justice, education and learning, safety and wellbeing, and civic engagement and leadership. The Forum knows that gender equity in the US and across the globe is both urgent and possible.

Vision

We envision a world where women and girls have equal power and opportunity across the globe.

Mission

We activate leaders to advance gender equity, catalyze change-making conversations, and turn intersectional ideas into action.

Our Levers of Change

Economic Mobility and Justice

Women and girls will have equitable access to, and control over, economic resources and the decisions that affect their lives, their families, and their communities.

Education and Lifelong Learning

All girls and young women will receive a quality education, with access to learning opportunities throughout their lives, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to compete in the labor market and the life skills necessary to navigate a changing world.

Health, Wellbeing and Climate Justice

Women and girls will have access to quality, responsive systems of care and support that value their human and lived experience now and alongside the changing planet.

Civic Engagement and Leadership

Civic power-shifting is critical to ensuring women and girls’ bright futures. They should be full participants in elections, board service, and other roles in government and civil society.
