Dhanya (she/her) is the Program Associate for the Aspen Global Innovators Group. At the Aspen Institute, Dhanya supports the Aspen Global Innovators Group’s portfolio of programs tackling overlooked challenges in global health and development. She provides programmatic, logistical, and operational support for the core programs in the Aspen Global Innovators Group, curates her team’s social media and digital campaigns, and supports business development initiatives. Previously, Dhanya has interned at Vital Voices Global Partnership, the Malala Fund, and the Brookings Institution. In addition, she studied abroad in Nairobi, Kenya where she took courses on gender and development and the politics of foreign aid. Originally from Cleveland, Dhanya graduated summa cum laude from American University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and won two awards for her senior thesis on hip-hop music and contemporary transnational solidarity between African American and Dalit groups. In addition to her activities at the Institute, Dhanya is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and avid U.S. college basketball fan.
